Choiseul 100 Africa
The Choiseul 100 Africa is an annual ranking independently conducted by Choiseul Africa. It identifies and highlights 200 young African economic decision-makers aged 40 or under who, through their activities and influence, are playing and will continue to play a significant role in Africa's economic development in the near future.
Our ranking
Since its launch in 2014, the aim of this ranking has been to highlight and connect African decision-makers destined to play a leading role in the continent’s economy.
Over the years, the Choiseul 100 Africa has become a unique pan-African network of influence for the younger generation. The result of several months of work, Choiseul Africa brings together numerous experts and specialists from across the continent to carry out this pioneering study, which assesses the driving forces of the African economy.
The study seeks to represent all regions of Africa and as many countries as possible, in order to identify a cohort of leaders drawn from across the continent and from every future-oriented, value-creating sector.
Methodology
The process for each edition of the Choiseul 100 Africa ranking runs from February to September of the given year and is divided into four main stages:
- Defining the methodology and objectives;
- Updating the previous year’s ranking;
- Researching and selecting new profiles;
- Validating and refining the final ranking, highlighting the 200 most promising young African business leaders.
Eligibility Criteria
Only profiles meeting certain conditions are taken into consideration:
- Holding the nationality of an African country;
- Being 40 years old or under as of 1 January 2024;
- Actively contributing to Africa’s economic development;
- Not holding an elected office as a main occupation.
Selection Criteria
A series of criteria guide the preselection and final selection of the laureates, including:
- Nationality, professional activity, and type of company/institution
- The individual’s role and position within the company/institution;
- Turnover or budget of the organisation;
- Number of employees in the organisation;
- Geographical areas covered;
- Civic or associative commitments and the individual’s influence.
