Africa 2050 Survey

Shaping the Africa of Tomorrow: Perspectives of Its Makers

To mark its 10th anniversary, Choiseul Africa presents a ground-breaking survey, carried out in partnership with Skema Business School, on the vision and projections of African business leaders for Africa’s development in 2050. More than 300 economic decision-makers from the private, institutional and public sectors were surveyed, representing 37 nationalities and almost 40% women.

Several priorities emerged: the need to accelerate the deployment of the continental free-trade zone for 97% of business leaders, the desire for the European Union to (re)become Africa’s leading trading partner for 53% of them – far more than Russia or China – and the desire to implement a transition to sustainable development, the immediate concern of 70% of the leaders questioned.

High-profile personalities agreed to share their vision of the continent over the next 25 years, including Sébastien Morokro, Managing Director of Petro Ivoire (Côte d’Ivoire), Achumile Majija, Regional Managing Director Commercial, Operations and Strategy of Prudential Africa (South Africa), Chérifa Othmani, Managing Director of Vega International Trade (Algeria), and Rose Muturi, Managing Director in charge of East Africa for Branch International (Kenya).
